A Money Saver

It costs me over a dollar a minute when we're not on the wall; we've already saved big dollars with the PowerPole, that's whay I demanded another set for the school job.

Choosing a PowerPole® System


1. Choose a Tilt-Up or ByPass System
Though they share some similar components, these two systems are very different in capability. If you need to go higher than 2-3 stories often, travel up and down several times a day, or need a system that you can build from the ground up, the ByPass is a better choice. However, if the majority of your work is 1-3 stories and you have enough room to "tilt up" a pre-assembled mast, the Tilt-Up may suit you better. View Comments.

2. Choose a Base
Every system requires a 10” x 10” base plate. However, the PowerPort Tilt-Up Outrigger is optional. If you want very fast setup, especially for heights of 24ft and under, you will want the outrigger since they stabilize the system without tying to the wall. Learn more.

3. Choose the Ties
There are a wide variety of ties available for every tie requirement you may encounter. Study the differences and decide what type(s) are for you. Learn more.

4. Choose Platform Style and Configuration
Many platform configurations are available in either single or dual mast configurations. The Single Man Basket can be used with either system but is better suited for the Tilt-Up systerm and does require the PowerLatch Assembly. Dual mast systems work on both ByPass and Tilt-Up systems and can support spans up to 40’ with a rated load of 1350lbs (650lbs per climbing unit). Learn more.

Tie Requirements for Different Configurations

SYSTEM CONFIGURATIONS
Tilt-Up with PowerPort Outrigger and V-Brace Tie can provide 24’ work height without anchoring the tie to the wall. (ByPass Masts can also be used in the configuration but will be heavier to “tilt” up.)
Once anchored to the structure at 32’, the Tilt-Up system can be used without midspan ties. (Note: This requires alternative access to anchor the tie and secure to the mast.)
Once anchored to the structure at 40’ using the PowerPort Outrigger and V-Brace, the Tilt-Up system can be used without midspan ties. (Note: This requires alternative access to anchor the tie and secure to the mast.)
The Tilt-Up system can be used to a maximum work height of 75’. This requires midspan ties every 16’ and one at the top. (Midspan ties are temporarily disconnected to pass).
The ByPass system is built from the ground up with 6’ mast sections to work heights of 100’. Ties are anchored every 12’ or less vertically. The ByPass system can “bypass” ties that are anchored into the wall without slowing down.
