When Scaffolding Won’t Fit: PowerMast at the Historic Adelphi Hotel

Background
The contractor on this project, Bast Hatfield, was conducting masonry repair on the historic Adelphi Hotel in Saratoga, New York. They partnered with Great Lakes Scaffolding to supply the access equipment needed to complete the work.
Problem
The space between the two buildings measured only about 18 inches wide, leaving little room for workers and equipment. Traditional scaffolding and standard mast climbers were too large to fit, creating an access challenge that threatened to slow the project’s progress.
Solution
The PowerMast’s compact, modular design allowed the crew to quickly set up the equipment in the confined space and safely access the work area. Plus, the PowerMast’s functionality was similar to the mast climbers the team was already familiar with, minimizing the learning curve and helping keep the project moving forward. With the PowerMast in place, they were able to complete the work efficiently despite the site’s challenging conditions.
